T4-41 Tracking test apparatus : Apparatus is intended for determining the degree of protection against formation of conducting paths in solid insulating materials, due to the electric stress and electrolytic contamination of the surface. Apparatus is built according to IEC regulations and in compliance with IEC 112.
Specification of apparatus It is made up of control unit and electrode unit. Control unit is built in metal sheet housing and consists of all elements needed to control and monitor the electrical parameters of the test. In the electrode unit are mounted dripping arrangement with electromagnet, platinum electrodes with mounting and adjustment mechanisms and table for sample positioning. Electrode unit has housing made of acrylic glass and is also equipped with internal light and ventilator for fume extraction. Both units are connected with cable and connector, that enables their separation and easier setting and transportation.
The main components are: - Platinum electrodes are fixed in jointed holders, that enable adjustment of 30( angle and height leveling. These holders are revolvable so that they enable correct position of electrodes even if the surface of sample is not absolute flush (straight). Distance between electrodes and force exerted on the sample (1N) are also adjustable. Electrodes or complete electrode assembly can easy be removed. (e.g. for cleaning or grinding purposes) - Dripping unit with electromagnetic valve is made of three main components, that can be simple disassembled: electromagnet, solution cylinder (acrylic glass) and drip nozzle. Height of dripping unit is adjustable. - Table for sample positioning and test gauge for drop volume adjustment. The table is free-standing and enables precise height leveling. Table plate is made of glass 100 x 100 mm. It can easy be removed and cleaned. - Double timer for adjustment the length of interval between drops and the volume of each drop. - Pre-settable resettable counter, for counting elapsed drops and for finishing the test after preset no. of drops have elapsed. - Transformer and variable ratio transformer for voltage adjustment 0-650V (in two ranges) - Current limiting resistor, steplessly adjustable for current adjustment (1A) - V meter digital 800 V AC ±0.2% +1digit - A meter digital 3 A AC ±0.2% +1digit - adjustable over-current relay (trips after 0.5 A/ 2 s) - switch for current test - push-button for manual triggering of dripping mechanism - START/STOP push-button - mains switch - signal lamp - fault indication - gauge 4 mm for adjustment of distance between electrodes
